How They are Made
The process of producing a 360° panorama from one digital image requires a specially designed lens attachment and a camera with at least 10 megapixel CCD. A parabolic mirror reflects the 360°picture through a modified macro lens. The resulting image is circular as shown.
A bespoke software package is used to'unwrap' the circular image into the flat format required for the viewer.
The image is stored in compressed JPEG format and, if necessary, can be enhanced at this stage to improve saturation, brightness, contrast and sharpness.
The image can then be converted into suitable formats to suit different types of web page viewer, in this case a Java Applet.
Click and hold on the image then move your mouse to change the perspective of your view.
