Digimatix has many years of experience of producing images of interior spaces for web sites, brochures etc. Our portfolio of clients includes hotels, guesthouse accommodation (B & B), self catering holiday cottages etc.
We use specialist photography equipment including both wide-angle and fish-eye lenses combined with high resolution digital, single lens, reflex cameras (DSLR) and a range of digital image enhancement software programs.
All of work is guaranteed - if you don't like it then we don't like it. Please read the rest of this page to find out about some of the techniques we use.
Fish-eye lens
Compare these two images of the same kitchen. The first is taken with a DSLR camera fitted with a general purpose lens operated at the 'wide-angle' setting.

The second image was taken from the same position but with a 'fish-eye' lens, in this case a 10.5mm Nikon. The image distortion produced by the lens has been corrected using a software package.

See how the full kitchen can now be displayed with a field of view much closer to human vision. We believe this produces a far superior impression of the property, letting the visitor see what it is really like.
High Dynamic Range
One of the problems with interior photography is that rooms usually have windows, a source of bright, natural light. This means that there is usually significantly different illumination across the room.
The first image here was taken using the automatic setting on a digital camera. The second is a composite of 3 seperate exposures, note how the illumination is more even and the window is less burned out.

This type of image enhancement is called High Dynamic Range or HDR photography.
